Professional Players' Bios
 7th Place Finisher at the 2007 WSOP Main Event Lee Childs is a 36-year-old poker professional living in suburban Washington, DC with his wife Jenny. He has a BBA in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University in Virginia. After 13 years of developing and managing custom software development projects, Lee left his high-tech executive position in June 2007 to explore other opportunities, including professional poker. He had been on his own for about a month when he decided to pursue one of his dreams – play in the World Series of Poker Main Event. He made it to the Final Table, finishing in seventh place and earning over $700,000. Following the WSOP Main Event, Lee capped off 2007 with cashes in other tournaments for more than $120,000 and has already earned $160,000 in 2008. He currently has lifetime live and online winnings of over $1,000,000. Lee is the first WPT Boot Camp alumnus to become an instructor and has also started his own company, Acumen Poker, where he conducts individual and group training sessions and serves as a personal poker coach to several players. Lee always had aspirations of being a teacher and coach, and while he thought he would find himself on a football field or wrestling mat, he’s found his true passion in playing and teaching others how to battle on the felt. |
 Nick began his poker career with just $200 and promptly proceeded to lose nearly half his bankroll. Disgusted, he purchased several poker books and began to truly study the game. Nick relentlessly scrutinized his play, carefully analyzing key decisions after each session, constantly seeking to optimize his game. Initially concentrating only on Sit-N-Goes, Nick worked his way up, eventually learning to consistently beat some of the largest Single Table Tournaments available. Nick then began to focus on No Limit Cash Games. The experience of playing over a thousand Sit-N-Goes made him an immediate low stakes winner. Since then Nick has steadily moved up in limits, consistently crushing the games, now playing eight high limit tables at once. Playing so many hands has made the technical side of Nick's game nearly automatic, leaving him free to focus on more advanced strategies. Now, Nick's primary focus is just poker. While playing tens of thousands of hands a month, he remains a true student of the game, spending countless time reviewing his play, studying hand histories and devouring poker material. His prior teaching experience, along with his online expertise, provides an exceptional learning experience for students. Nick currently lives in Jersey City, NJ. When away from the tables he enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially his mother, Karol, and long time girlfriend, Anna. |
